Dui And Reckless Driving, Do They Have The Same Effect On Car Insurance Premiums?

I thought a driving under the influence was a more serious charge than reckless driving (dry). Thus a DUI would cause rates to go up more. Anyone have some info please?

    This would depend on your insurance company. Some consider DUI to be more serious but reckless driving is still a moving violation. The definition of the type of violation and how it will affect your rates will be defined in your policy. You can also call your insurance agent.

    There is reckless driving — traffic violation;
    reckless driving — misdemeanor criminal;
    reckless driving – - felony criminal…
    With the felony you’re going to be riding the bus to your parent’s nursing home………. but it’s usually when several people are seriously hurt……….

    reckless driving, DUI are both considered moving violations. Your insurance company notifies their underwriting department, they make the decision on not only your premium, but if they should cancel your policy
