Is Illegal To Sponsor A Drunk Driving Race?

I am putting on a first annual Drunk Driving Race across our city in 2 weeks but am concerned about the legalities of it (for me). Basically there are 6 people that have to drink 8 beers in 45 minutes (or enough to get them to .130). Once everyone is there we have a 35 minute route that takes them all around the city with the first one getting to the finish line getting 500. I know they can get DUIs but can I be held responsible for anything?

Okay for the first thing, what the **** is wrong with you, that is really sick, yes of course you can and will be charged, you will be charged for causing death or being charged with murder you will be charged for illegal activities, you will have to pay for the damages, overall you could get at least 25 years in prison for something as stupid as this

Wow, your body takes 1 hour to metabolize 1 beer completely,in 45 minutes your asking for death. They will die, how crazy can you possibly be. That entire race should be illegal because of the simple fact that your not allowed to drive with a BAC 0.8 or .10 and above! Why would you let a person put their lives at risk, if they don’t die from getting in an accident they’ll die from alcohol poisoning or vice versa! You should cancel the entire thing and be a smart person since your in charge. Be a responsible adult..seriously.Yes you can get in trouble because you provided the beer, and the place . Many charges like manslaughter can go with that depending on the situation.

If a bartender serves a patron alcohol when they know they are already really inebriated and that person gets in a wreck or something then the bartender can be held legally responsible. I am sure there is a whole list of legal reasons you shouldn’t do this but the biggest reason is moral…Why would you want to do something that is going to put innocent people’s lives in danger by putting even more drunk drivers on the road?!?

If this is a joke it’s really funny. I was laughing when I read the title.
But if it’s not, you will be responsible for the lives of innocent people that are taken as a result of this. If you can imagine a child being taken away from its mother and buried because of something you organized, please don’t ever let something like that happen. It’s not worth it.

    How about a murder charge?
Do you think this is funny?
Here’s the deal: if your drive drunk I will pay for your burial expenses.
I personally believe drunk drivers should be executed.
In Alberta they take your license away for life. I still prefer execution. Now that’s funny, isn’t it?

You’d have to do something like this on a closed track. It could still be in a city with closed streets, ala Grand Prix races. And you’d also best get the drivers to waive their right to sue.

  7. Bean Says:

Yes, you will be sued after one of the idiot’s kills an innocent person or paralyzes them not to mention if they do that to themselves as well. That’s one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard of.

And somehow Cops always get a bad rap!!!! and this goes to show what cops have to deal with. You don’t see anything wrong with this idea and if it’s a joke, sick joke!!!

  9. Bubb Rubb Says:

Uhh yeah. Murder, manslaughter, stupidity if there was a charge for that…
